About this role

Sidian is a Waterloo startup building an AI platform for engineering firms. As lead ML engineer you'll build computer-vision models that read structural drawings, graph neural networks that reason over connected engineering data, and fine-tuned foundation models (LoRA/QLoRA/PEFT) with proper evaluation harnesses. You'll own the ML lifecycle, from data curation and training infrastructure to inference optimization and production monitoring.

You bring: strong Python and PyTorch with end-to-end model training; CNN/computer-vision experience; GNN or geometric deep learning (PyTorch Geometric, DGL or similar); and practical LLM fine-tuning. No architecture/engineering/construction background needed; a master's is a plus, not a must.
